OPP investigating water related death at Big Island

The Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a “water related death” at the Baycrest Marina on Big Island in Sophiasburgh.
At approximately 4:49 p.m. emergency responders were called to the marina by a citizen who observed a body in the water. Prince Edward County Fire and Hastings EMS also attended.
The deceased has been identified as 68-year-old Lorne Bruce MacKinnon, of St. Catherines.
The Office of the Chief Coroner has been notified. A post mortem examination is scheduled for today at Kingston General Hospital.
