OPP officer charged with assault

The Ontario Provincial Police Professional Standards Bureau has arrested and charged a Prince Edward OPP officer as a result of a domestic related investigation into alleged incidents that occurred while the member was off duty.
As a result of the investigation, an eight-year member has been charged with two counts of assault.
The officer has been put on administrative duties and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. The identity of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
