A good crowd witnessed the ultimate battle of the sexes Saturday night at the Bloomfield Mill Pond Park as the Driftwood Theatre Group presented The Taming of the Shew.

Travelling on its last leg across Ontario in the Bard’s Bus Tour the unique production William Shakespeare’s play was set in 1989 during the Toronto Pride Festival and explores themes of sexuality, consent and the exchange of power.

Since July 19, the company has toured this fiery romantic comedy to communities across Ontario. For 22 years, The Bard’s Bus Tour has brought professional Pay-What-You-Can performances of classic plays to outdoor locations in small towns and city neighbourhoods across the province.

Founded in 1995, Toronto-based Driftwood Theatre Group is Ontario’s first and longest-running outdoor touring theatre tradition.
