Passion for County’s hospital continues with tribute

It certainly should not surprise anyone about how very passionate and proud that Prince Edward County residents are of their local hospital.
At a time when many small rural Ontario hospitals, or their emergency departments, have been closed, County individuals, groups and organizations continue to come together to raise funds for PECM Hospital.
One such group is the local musicians who are putting together a tribute concert to honour their late friend and fellow artist Zeke Mazurek. This concert will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 2 pm at the Picton United Church.
Suzanne Pasternak, whom I believe was a patient (as was Zeke) at PECMH, is producing this concert. She feels as do many others that both Zeke and herself received excellent care from their caregivers. Unfortunately Zeke is no longer with us but many of us will remember what an amazing musician he was.
There are too many local and international performers to name; however, there are numerous posters and ads throughout the County. By the way, the last tribute concert for Zeke performed by these same musicians was sold out very early. There will be a free will offering at the door with the funds collected going to the PECMH Auxiliary.
Tax receipts will be issued if requested. I believe the objective is to say THANK YOU to the hospital staff and purchase a piece of equipment that will make the nurses’ lifes a little easier.

I encourage you to bring your family and friends to this amazing tribute concert. I especially encourage QHC administration and board members to attend. Most importantly, I encourage all the staff of PECMH, including doctors to attend so that as a community we can say thank you for the care that many of us have received over the years. Hopefully we will see you there!
