PECI builds on leadership at student camp

Just before March Break, PECI class representatives participated in a leadership camp at Wesley Acres.
When we get there we get acquainted with everyone and we play some get-to-know-each-other games. We talk about what is going on at the school and how students feel. The class reps also get their say in planning for the rest of the year. We plan things like spirit weeks, ideas for next year and what they would like to see happen around the school. It is a fun day where everyone gets to give their input and have their voice heard.

I find things like leadership camp wonderfully proactive. We had kids who didn’t know their class presidents at all, then by the end of the day, they knew them personally.
Relationships like this are important for building a safe and comfortable school environment where all students feel good enough to say what they think and know that those who have the power to get something done hear it.
So many great ideas were shared that day and you can be sure that the rest of the year will be amazing fun!
School spirit and the PECI respect that our school is known for was excellent and I would like to congratulate all those who ran and planned this extremely successful event.
Looking forward to next year for more students and our next batch of leaders.
-Till next time,
Sydnee Gael Mulridge
