The PECI Panther Junior Boys Volleyball team will host the Central Ontario Secondary School championship games Wednesday after earning silver medals at the Nov 8 Bay of Quinte Championships at Centre Hastings SS.
Team members Tye Eaton, Riley Greer, Pat MacPherson, Jordan Strachan, Andrew Dayton, Graysen St.Pierre, Noah Graham-Stevens, Mitchell Reid, Ryan Jones, Jesse Doornbos, David Prinzen and Riley Bovay finished first in their pool, and beat Bayside SS in the semifinals before facing Marc Garneau for the gold. After two tight matches (25-22 and 26-24) the boys found themselves on the short side of the scoreboard for the first time in the day. Coach Andrew Holmes noted team members received silver medals, and more importantly, several comments on their hard work and sportsmanship. Senior student Adam Miller is assistant coach.

The finals begin at 4 p.m.
Senior Boys’ Win COSSA soccer
A return trip to OFSAA provided all the motivation the Prince Edward Collegiate Panthers needed to erase a 1-0 second-half deficit on their way to a 3-1 win over the Nicholson Crusaders in the COSSA AA senior boys soccer final Thursday at Bayside.
“We knew how it felt to go to OFSAA last year,” said PECI captain Damien Wadforth. “It was the first year our school ever went and we wanted to go back.”
