PECI Panthers pounce on Falcons

UPDATE: Today’s game cancelled

PECI Panthers are back to their winning ways as they trounced the St. Paul’s Falcons 10-1 in girls hockey action Tuesday in Trenton. Today’s home game against Bayside has been cancelled along with the buses following last night’s snow storm. It will be rescheduled. The next home game is Tuesday in Picton against St. Theresa’s, at 3 p.m.
“We had a lot of good chances but we just didn’t capitalize on them,” said coach Laurie Spencer following the team’s 4-0 loss in their first game back after the holiday break against the ENSS Blue Dragons. She was very pleased with the effort and results in Tuesday’s against the Falcons.
Celina Fox lead the scoring with a hat trick and Sam Ward lead the points with a goal and three assists. Kelli-Anne Maycock had two goals and an assist. Morgan Clarke and Tynika Williams both had a goal and assist. Chloe Marshal and Kendra Marion had single goals while Alex Staley, Abby Terpstra and Kim Pothier had single helpers.
Tyler Snider was solid in the nets and was tested many times as the Falcons started using stretch passes to in attempts to catch the Panthers pinching defense for a quick goal.
Next Panther game is in Picton on Thursday, Jan. 14th in Picton against the Bayside Red Devils. Puck drops at 3pm.
