PECI Senior Girls COSSA champions heading to OFSAA next week

For the second time in three years, the PECI Senior Girls Basketball team is the champion of Central Ontario.
Coach Rob Garden reports the team defeated Holy Cross from Peterborough 64 – 45 in the championship game in front of a packed gym at PECI.
“Mikayla Leavitt, Jesse Swackhammer and Vanessa Wilton all scored 14 points to pace the attack. In the semis, the girls made quick work of the Adam Scott Lions, winning 51 – 29. With the win, the girls have punched their ticket to OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) in London next Wednesday through Saturday.”
Coach Garden also congratulates the Jr Girls who “battled hard at AAA COSSA today but came up against a tough team from CCI and lost in the semis.”
