PECI talents kick off Christmas holidays

Students at Prince Edward Collegiate welcomed the holidays with dancing, donating and singing in a Canada-wide social media singalong to brighten up the holidays for children in hospital.
Included in Friday afternoon’s annual talent show were performances by teachers, the Improv Team, arts council, athletic council and by County band Instant Rilvary – composed of Megan and Caleb Hutton – former PECI students.
The school answered hockey star PK Subban’s charity challenge as the student council led the singing of Jingle Bells. Montreal Canadiens hockey player Subban (a former Belleville Bulls player) has teamed up with Air Canada asking people to record themselves singing Jingle Bells and share their video using the hashtag #CanadaCarols. Donations are also being sought for the Children’s hospital in Montreal and Miracle Network hospitals across Canada.
PECI’s show ended with a donation of almost $1,000 to the Salvation Army. This followed the holiday tradition of Venture students supporting the Angel Campaign as students delivered bags and boxes of gifts to help 28 County children have a better Christmas.
