Prince Edward Collegiate Institute is welcoming more students than usual this morning as, for the first time, Grade 7 and 8 students will be welcomed as “junior” Panthers.
Following this spring’s decision by the Hastings Prince Edward District School board, senior elementary school students from Queen Elizabeth Public School and Pinecrest Memorial will be attending PECI this year – in their own wing. Queen Elizabeth becomes a K-6 school and Pinecrest has closed. Plans are under way to incorporate student programming for those from the County’s remaining elementary schools.
Changes at PECI continue this year as it transitions to offering Kindergarten to Grade 12 in the fall of 2018.
