Sunny, and a bit warmer weather than expected for mid-January brought dozens of people to Wellington Beach on Sunday to admire the glittering ice and snow formations on the shore. The ice volcanoes near the shore among the ice shelves were mostly quiet Sunday as wind was at a minimum.
“What a beautiful day,” said Sandra Farquhar as she stopped on the beach to take a photograph. “This is perfect weather for a walk along this beautiful beach.”
Monday is expected to be mainly sunny and 2 degrees C. Environment Canada forecasts periods of freezing rain Tuesday (high 1C), followed by a chance of showers Wednesday, (high 3C). A mix of sun and cloud is forecast to round out the week with highs of 3C and 2C.
