Picton golfers win district intersectionals

Picton Golf and Country Club Senior Ladies won their District Intersectionals against three other teams at Camden Brae last Monday.

The last week of August proved to be a winning one for the women golfers at the Picton Golf and Country Club who were participating in three events sponsored by the Eastern District of the GAO (Golf Association of Ontario).

On August 29th playing at the Cataraqui Club in Kingston,the B team finished third.  Competing for Picton were Charlotte Daubney, Kathy O’Driscoll, Ev Forsyth, Linda Den Boer,Susan March, Muriel Thilbert.
On the same day the A team composed of Casey Ward, Heather Kinnear, Connie Gallager, Debbie Rankin, Dianne Dunne and Ilona Anderson finished second at the Bay Of Quinte Club in Belleville.

The week ended on a high note when the Picton team finished first on August 30th at Camden Braes golf  club.  Highlighting this victory was a hole in one By Donna Stever who aced the 165 yard Par 3 at hole #11.  The Picton Team was composed of Marcy Daley, Fay Towle, Ev Forsyth, Dianne Dunn, Kathy O’Driscoll, Susan March, Donna Stever and Ilona Anderson.

Marcy Daley coordinated the event for the Picton team and was thrilled with the results.  ” It was a terrific experience for the golfers from Picton.  It was a really well run event and the girls had a lot of fun,” she said.
