Watermain repairs on Picton Main Street between Washburn Street and Walton Street in Picton are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 24 beginning at 9 a.m., with an expected completion time of 5 p.m.
Picton Main Street may be reduced to one lane in the construction area. Traffic control will be in place.
Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area and take alternate routes if possible.
The sidewalk on the south side of the road will be closed to pedestrian traffic for the duration of construction. Pedestrians are asked to use the sidewalk on the north side (the same side as McDonald’s Restaurant) of the road.
These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, customers/businesses who may experience temporary loss of water service or intermittent pressure fluctuations and coloured water while construction is taking place have been notified.
If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once repairs are complete and water service is restored.
