Pink Shirt Day participants are are looking to “Erase the Hate” and thousands of them are wearing the T-shirt to prove it.
“Stand up against hate, lead with love, acceptance, change and now erase the hate,” Tweets Prince Edward Collegiate Institute about shirt slogans over the years. “Pink shirts at PECI – not just a day, but an attitude.”
A sea of pink is flowing at Hastings Prince Edward District School Board schools and workplaces on Wednesday, April 9 as students and employees wear pink as a visible action to show acceptance, and say no to bullying, homophobia, racism and all forms of hatred.
This is the second year that Pink Shirt Day has been supported board-wide. Thousands of students and employees will wear pink to stand together to show support for inclusive schools, workplaces and communities.
The PECI Panther Challenge today is that beyond wearing the colour and showing support, do one kind act today for someone you have never met.
