The accolades are pouring in for the first performances of Oliver! by the Marysburgh Mummers on the weekend. Oliver! was the first musical adaptation of a famous Charles Dickens work to become a stage hit. The show is about an orphan who runs away from an orphanage and hooks up with a group of boys trained to be pickpockets by an elderly mentor. The last four performances are almost sold out. Shows are set for Oct. 25, 26, 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Mount Tabor Theatre in Milford. Tickets $15 at Hicks General Store, Green Gables, AV Frame and Photo and the Rossmore One Stop or call 476-2312. Among the cast, brother and sister Callum and Isobel McDonald play Oliver and The Artful Dodger; Pat Larkin is a scary Sykes and Don Watson is Fagin.
