Poppy Fund supports hospital’s Lifesaver Campaign

Legion-Poppy-FundThe Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation receive $3,000 from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 78 on July 23, 2015. The funds were collected through the 2014 Poppy Fund campaign, which raised money from more 50 poppy boxes in the community. The donation will be directed toward the Foundation’s current $350,000 LIFE SAVER Campaign for medical equipment, which includes $205,000 worth of replacement scopes for the Endoscopy Unit at PECMH.
“We are especially grateful to the Poppy Fund Committee for helping us acquire replacement scopes for our hospital,” said Leo Finnegan, president of the Foundation. “The day surgery program helps keep the hospital open and busy. It’s vital for our community to continue to ensure our County hospital is equipped with the latest technology to keep it relevant. The government does not pay for medical equipment. It has always been the responsibility of the community to fund medical equipment needs. We hope the community will see this as another sign that we are all committed to building a vibrant future for Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and give generously.”
