Province freezes driver fees

The provincial government is freezing a number of driver fees that were set to increase on Sept. 1, 2018.
The freeze will cost the provincial treasury about $1.6 million in lost revenue.
“People are fed up with paying more and more every time they need to renew their licence or take a driving test,” said Premier Doug Ford in a media release. “This will make life more affordable for drivers right across the province. This is the latest example of our government putting money back where it belongs — in the pockets of hard-working Ontarians.”
Road and knowledge tests for all driver’s licence classes and fees to get and renew driver’s licences will be frozen.
