Public meeting to discuss new connecting road in Picton

The public is invited to review preliminary designs, ask questions, and provide comments during a public information session on the proposed design and construction of part of a new connecting road in Picton.

The County is working with Jewell Engineering to undertake a municipal class environmental assessment for the design and construction of part of a new connecting road. It will pass through the new commercial development off of Loyalist Parkway across from the No Frills and through the new Rollins subdivision and ending at Talbot Street. (See map below).

The meeting is set for Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 4-7 pm at the Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street, Picton).

More information is available on the County’s public consultation webpage.

  1. Mike Rodgers says:

I have suggested in the past, hire efficiency consultants then follow there findings to a tee. The private sector do this all the time and 90% of the time it is found that upper to middle management is top heavy and they tell them to reduce.

  2. Argyle says:

The amount of power an individual has in any organization is largely based on the number of people that they supervise and direct. This is the best way to increase your input and influence in the decision making process, as well as Increasing your salary / benefit package. All municipalities operate in this manner. The last thing PEC needs is more directors, managers, superintendents and supervisors. Mike Rodgers is right.

  3. Chuck says:

Well we have 2 new postions, a Fire Prevention Officer and a Bylaw Officer to monitor our desire to control short term rentals. Cost to taxpayer, 200 k. Return, unknown.

  4. Mike Rodgers says:

It seems when ever time the county grows its tax bases they hire more employees, hence it is a wash in regards to gaining capitol to pay down debt. I am sure if this development is a go new managers etc will be needed in the eyes of the managers of the departments. Then said managers ask for more money because now they over see more people. Bureaucrats working at its finish

  5. Fred says:

With the new development this is clearly needed.

  6. Paul Cole says:

Its seems what The County has now they can’t maintain so ya build more…Makes sense
