The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation took possession of a Lilliput Dollhouse graciously donated by Louise Conley, of Picton, and renovated by the members of the Wellington on the Lake Woodcrafters group.

Members made extensive renovations, upgrades, additional furnishings and also added an elegant  gazebo complete with gingerbread trim, walkway,  gardens and a family dog.

“They transformed this whimsical garden home into a spectacular showcase anyone would be proud to own,” said Hazel Lloyst interim director of development with the PECMH Foundation. “This beautiful dollhouse would make a wonderful heirloom gift for a child, grandchild,  favourite relative or collector.”

This newly landscaped Prince Edward County home is now ready for its next proud owner by way of a raffle draw.  Tickets go on sale at the Picton Fair starting Friday, Sept. 5th and will be available from the PECMH Foundation office (403 Main St., Picton) through to Dec. 12th.

The front-opening 1” – 1’ scale three storey home features a newly shingled roof, gingerbread trim, eight shuttered windows and three balconies.  The exterior of the house has also been freshly painted.

Inside, there are five rooms on three floors plus a walk out balcony, flower boxes on the lower windows and other ornamental, architectural details. Fully furnished, this dollhouse features wallpapered walls, working lights and antique-style furnishings.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have it available for raffle moving into the holiday season,” said Lloyst. “Our sincere thanks are extended to donor, Louise Conley and also the  Wellington on the Lake Woodcrafters group for their tenacity and creativity in renovating this lovely home.  Wellington on the Lake residents are part of a community that cares and gives back. Their work on the dollhouse is testament to that. Special thanks also to Printcraft for graciously donating the poster, feature sheet and raffle tickets.”

Tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and are available at the PECMH Foundation office at 403 Main St. E in Picton or by calling 613-476-1008 ext. 4503.  The dollhouse will be on display around the County, beginning with the Picton Fair.  Louise Conley is to draw the lucky ticket at the Foundation office on Friday, December 12 at 2 p.m.

All proceeds will be directed toward the purchase of priority medical equipment at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital as the government does not fund this equipment. For more information visit PECMH Foundation’s Facebook page or website at www.pecmhf.ca
