Ann Wardrop, of Picton, was named winner of the dollhouse the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation offered as a raffle over the past few months.
“Thanks to all who supported the foundation through purchasing a ticket,” said Hazel Lloyst, the foundation’s interim director. “Thanks to you, a total of $1,282.52 was raised for priority medical equipment needs at PECMH. Special appreciation is extended to Pierson’s Foodland, Books and Company, the Second Time Around Shop, Bryan West, Sandra Foreman, Betsy Sinclair and Leo and Maureen Finnegan for selling dollhouse tickets on our behalf as well as the Wellington Dukes, Picton Fair Board, Books and Company, Pierson’s Foodland and the PECMH Auxiliary County Festival of Trees organizers for allowing us to showcase the house at their venues.”
Lloyst noted the house wouldn’t be a home without the tremendous efforts of members of the Wellington on the Lake Woodcrafters group for sprucing up the house, shingling the roof and constructing the gazebo prior to the home being showcased around the County.
Donor of the dollhouse, Louise Conley, of Picton along with her oldest granddaughter, Kim Boehlke were on hand to draw the lucky winner’s name. Kim pulled Ann’s ticket from the ballot box and upon receiving the news Ann remarked she’s always wanted a dollhouse.
