Runners honoured the 31st anniversary of the Terry Fox Run while participating in the 17th annual Sandbanks Fall Getaway 10km and 5km Fun Runs Sunday at the provincial park.
Race Director Agnese Bortolussi says volunteers got up bright and early to set up registration, water stations, food and direction markers for the crowd of runners expected to arrive for the 5 & 10km run. There were 260 people registered for the Sandbanks Fun Run with others joining in for the Terry Fox Run.
“Our goal was to attract people to Prince Edward county after the summer tourist season was over and to help raise funds for the Friends of Sandbanks and The Terry Fox organization”, says Bortolussi.
