Wellington welcomed Christmas in the village over two days last weekend.
Citizens of “Welly-Ville” dressed up and joined in for the Christmas tree lighting, carol singing and hot chocolate in the park on Friday night.
Saturday, a cheerful Welly-Ville Christmas Parade was followed by visits with Santa, the decoration of cookies, music and stories. Welly-Ville residents and friends also enjoyed free skating at the arena.
Bev Dick treats Oliver, the mini pot belly pig, on their way to see the Christmas parade. The one-and-a-half year-old pig didn’t walk in the parade, says Bev, because he is slow and stops to greet everybody.
Many furry folk watched for Santa Paws – including Sonic, and his 10 month old son Shaggy, Old English Sheepdogs with Teresa Hineman.
Children waited patiently for the parade to begin.
While waiting for the parade, children posed for photographs in Welly-ville.

Santa’s elves checked their list and found all the dogs at the day’s parade were on the nice list.
Wellington’s event was Santa’s final parade in the County. If you missed getting your photograph with him, he will be at the Angel Campaign Office Saturday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Just bring a canned good donation, or a new toy to donate.
