The chair and vice-chair have been re-elected to lead the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board. At its annual meeting Dec. 4, the board of trustees re-elected Lucille Kyle as chair of the board and Dave Patterson as vice-chair.
Kyle expressed appreciation and looked forward to the future.
“I appreciate every one of my colleagues and will work together with them. Last year was about teamwork. Thank you for re-electing me. I know that by working together we will have a good year ahead,” said Kyle.
Kyle was first elected as trustee in the fall of 2010 then re-elected in the October 2014 municipal election as a trustee for North Hastings. She was elected as vice-chair of the board in December 2014 and then re-elected to that same role in December 2015. She was first elected as chair in December 2016.
Patterson acknowledged the important role of trustees in public education.
“I am humbled by my colleagues, thank you. It is a pleasure to serve as vice-chair and a wonderful learning experience. We discover new strengths each time we meet. It is a privilege to take this role for the next year,” he said.
Patterson was first elected as trustee in the fall of 2010 then re-elected in the October 2014 municipal election, representing Belleville/Thurlow. He was elected as vice-chair of the Board in December 2012 and re-elected to that same role in December 2013 and December 2016.
