School bus, vehicle collide in Picton

UPDATE: An 84-year-old Picton woman has been charged with ‘Start from Stopped Position- Not in Safety’, under the Highway Traffic Act.
A vehicle collided with school bus early Wednesday at the intersection of Church and Union streets in Picton.
The female driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries. There were no injuries reported of the 22 students on the bus or the driver of the bus.
Prince Edward County OPP (OPP) and Hastings- Quinte EMS (EMS) responded to the scene at 7:45 am. Wednesday, May 24. Prince Edward OPP are continuing their investigation and said more information will be released as it becomes available.
