Search under way for new Director of Education

The search for a new Director of Education is under way at Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.

Executive search firm, Phelpsgroup, has been retained to support the trustee search committee in planning, consultation, outreach, recruitment, identification of potential candidates, and support with the interview, selection and transition processes.

Consultations with internal and external stakeholders are also under way in order to get feedback about key priorities and core competencies required of the new director.

The search process will continue throughout the coming weeks with candidate interviews taking place in late June/early July and the new director in place in August 2019.

Current director, Mandy Savery-Whiteway, announced her retirement in January.

The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board serves approximately 15,000 students at 40 schools (33 elementary, one K-12; two 7-12 and four secondary).

There are approximately 1,800 teaching and support staff, volunteers and community partners. The district covers a wide geographic area of 7,221 square kilometres bordered by Maynooth to the north, Deseronto to the east, Prince Edward County to the south and Quinte West, to the west.
