SEASONED PORK STRIPS

2 lbs. pork roast (sliced into 2” strips)
2 tbsps. vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic (minced)
2 tbsps. sherry
2 tbsps. sugar
1/4 cup soya sauce
1 tbsp. hoisin sauce
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp. Chinese 5 spice
1 tsp. cumin
1 tbsp. toasted sesame seeds
2 green onions (chopped)
1/4 cup water
salt & cracked black pepper to taste
– in a medium bowl add oil, garlic, soya sauce, cumin, sherry and mix well
– add pork strips and coat well, chill for 4-6 hours
– in a small bowl add honey, hoisin sauce, Chinese 5 spice, sugar, water, salt, pepper and mix well
– pour mixture in with chilled marinated pork and fold well
– remove pork strips from bowl and place in the bottom of a baking dish
– bake in pre-heated oven for 60-70 minutes at 350F, our until pork is fully cooked.
– continue to brush with remaining marinade frequently while cooking
– remove from heat and spoon on to serving dish
– garnish with green onions & sesame seeds
