Several COVID-19 outbreaks declared

With the confirmation by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health of a COVID-19 outbreak at H.J. McFarland Memorial Home Sept. 25, there are now two outbreaks with a respiratory (parainfluenza) not declared resolved from Aug. 10.

HPEPH also notes COVID-19 outbreaks for Quinte Health Belleville Quinte 5 and on Sept. 18 an outbreak at QHC Trenton Memorial’s inpatient unit. MLP Residence at Picton is experiencing a respiratory outbreak (unknown organism) since Sept. 19.

In Hastings Prince Edward Public Health’s most recent statistics Sept. 20, it is noted there were and average of 6.9 hospitalizations as of Sept. 16 but none were in intensive care.

There were 29 new and 33 active high-risk setting cases with two outbreaks recorded at Hastings Manor and Bridge Street Retirement Home.
