Several summer traffic disruptions, construction to note in the County

Summer road work is under way in Prince Edward County.
Construction to widen four intersections enroute to the wpd White Pines industrial wind project in South Marysburgh. Contractors for wpd are expected to start construction within the next two weeks.
The intersections undergoing alterations include:
o Royal Road and Lighthall Road
o Lighthall Road and County Road 24
o Royal Road and County Road 10
o County Road 4 and County Road 34
Geotechnical work on Hill and Fairfield streets
The County will be conducting a geotechnical investigation on Hill Street and Fairfield Street in Picton from May 30 – June 1, which will result in minor lane restrictions and traffic delays.
The traffic disruptions and delays will occur from May 30 – June 1 between the hours 7 am and 7 pm.
The geotechnical investigation will take place on Hill Street from Fairfield Street to east of Division Street, and on the full extent of Fairfield Street.
Traffic disruptions on Talbot Street and Lake Street
The County will be conducting a geotechnical investigation on Talbot Street and Lake Street from May 30 – June 1, which will result in minor lane restrictions and traffic delays.
The traffic disruptions and delays will occur from May 30 – June 1 between the hours 7 am and 7 pm.
The geotechnical investigation will take place on Talbot Street between Picton Main Street and Argyle Crescent, and on Lake Street between Picton Main Street and West Mary Street.
County Road 1 rehabilitation begins June 4
Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 4 and continue until Friday, Aug. 31.
Work on County Road 1 will extend from Palmer-Burris Road toward County Road 33 approximately 2.7 km.
Sections of the road will be reduced to one lane of traffic periodically during the rehabilitation.
Work will include replacing existing drainage culverts, cleaning out and improving ditches, in-place processing of the existing road surface, and resurfacing the road with asphalt.
Wilson Road rehabilitation begins June 4
Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 4 and continue until Friday, Aug. 31.
Work will extend from Highway 62 westerly approximately 3.5 km.
Sections of the road will be reduced to one lane of traffic periodically during the rehabilitation.
Work will include replacing existing drainage culverts, cleaning out and improving ditches, in-place processing of the existing road surface, and resurfacing the road with asphalt.
