Shout Sister! making joyful noise Saturday

Picton’s Shout Sister! choir is making a joyful noise for the Transition PEC program. Directed by multi-award winning vocalist Georgette Fry, the choir is full of enthusiasm and energy as it host its year-end concert fundraiser Saturday, May 29 at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Picton. Doors open 7:30 p.m., show begins at 8 p.m.
The choir focus is on relaxing and having fun while singing a wide range of popular music. Audiences delight at their selection of pop and gospel tunes. Demand has led to performances on the Vinyl Café Kingston show, Tom Jackson’s Christmas show, and the Nylons Christmas show. The choir also performs for various fundraising events in the area. The Shout Sister! phenomenon is spreading like wildfire. There are now chapters in Picton, Kingston, Brockville, Belleville and two in Ottawa.
The demand is growing as women everywhere are hearing about the Shout Sister! Choir. Singing with a group of women is powerful and many strong connections develop between the women. In performance there is so much joy and positive energy from the choir that the audience is captivated and responds with enthusiasm.
Bring the family to support the choir and Transition PEC – a creative coalition formed to help make Prince Edward County a sustainable community for the future. Tickets $15, children under 8 years old, free of charge, at the door.

  1. The Shout Sisters played to a full house, and received a standing ovation. It was the choir’s fifth concert, and Georgette feels each one has been better than the last. Transition PEC is privileged to be able to collaborate with such a superb example of a creative, community-building organisation.
