Evan Nash of Wellington Home Hardware receives a Water Bottle Refilling Station sign from Council of Canadians Quinte members Lynn Braun, Lynne Rochon and Brenda Picard
Prince Edward County retail and restaurant locations are being approched to participate in a Council of Canadians Quinte project to let residents and visitors know where they can top up their refillable water bottles.
A sign has been designed for display by participating local businesses indicating people are welcome to come into the premises to refill their water containers.
“By taking action that Prince Edward County is a friendly and environmentally responsible municipality, everyone can do their part to banish the proliferation of millions of single-use plastic water bottles that are clogging the world’s waterways and harming wildlife,” said Lynn Braun, Council of Canadians member.
