Slow Food fundraiser supports County food banks

Slow Food the County donated $500 worth of ground beef to the Picton Food Bank. Goodfellow’s Meats’ Wes Brickell and TJ Quinn were at the presentation with the food bank’s Pat Romkey and Slow Food chair Peter Fleming. Slow Food holds a fundraising gala in late November matching County wines with food prepared by local chefs. Funds are also raised on auction items. Slow Food also donated $500 to the Wellington Food Bank. The next fundraiser for the food bank will be a Stuff the Cruiser event at Sobey’s in Picton on Saturday, August 17 in conjunction with the Prince Edward OPP.
