Snow grooming on Millennium Trail continues

Following a significant amount of snow in the County, winter grooming the Millennium Trail continues to benefit those who walk, ski, fat tire bike, snowshoe and snowmobile.

During this time, motorized vehicle use of the Millennium Trail is restricted to snowmobiles, farm tractors and vehicles of animal husbandry (branch of agriculture where animals are reared, bred and raised for meat, fiber, eggs, milk and other food products).

Snowmobilers are reminded to limit their speed to 20 kilometres per hour within any town, village or hamlet, 10 kilometres per hour within designated significant wetlands, and 50 kilometres per hour elsewhere.

Note, the trail is not maintained for pedestrian use in the winter, and icy conditions exist on some sections. Also note, parking lots and access points are not plowed. All-terrain vehicles and dirt bikes are not allowed on the trail throughout the winter. Restrictions remain in place until the snow has melted, and the trail conditions are stable enough for ATV use.

Reminder: The Millennium Trail in Wellington, between Cleminson Street and Wellington on the Lake, is closed to all users until further notice. The closure is so that emergency services (fire, police, and paramedics) can use the trail to access Wellington on the Lake during the Wellington Main Street closure for construction of the Wellington trunk watermain and sanitary sewer project.
