South Marysburgh councillor Steve Ferguson has filed his intention to seek the mayor’s seat in the County’s municipal election Oct. 22.
Ferguson filed his papers Wednesday morning with the clerk’s office. Nominations opened Tuesday, and remain open until July 27.
“I love the councillor role and I love PEC and think I can do more,” he said. “If I am successful in earning the confidence and trust of the majority of voters in the County in the October election, I look forward to working with a newly-elected council and our municipal staff in the best interests of our residents, businesses and visitors for the next four years. There is much more work ahead, but I very much look forward to the challenge.”
Janice Maynard has submitted her papers to be a candidate in Ameliasburgh.
Stewart Scott Bailey has declared his interest in representing North Marysburgh (currently represented by David Harrison).
