Sunshine may peek through on ‘Blue Monday’ the third Monday in January, considered by some to be the most depressing day of the year.
The day is said to be coined more than a decade ago by psychologist Cliff Arnall who was asked by a holiday company for a ‘scientific formula’ for the January blues. He used both debt and weather.
Forecasts may lift moods if the sun actually does peek through cloudy skies this week. Temperatures are expected hover around -2 to -6 (though it could feel like up to -13 Wednesday).
Snow enthusiasts get a taste of winter with scattered flurries early in the week and about 2-4cm of snow forecast for Thursday. More sunshine expected for next weekend.
