Prince Edward residents, businesses and organizatons are sweet on promoting the County’s first agricultural harvest – with Maple in the County celebrations set for March 26-27.
Activities across the County are maple centralized with everybody bringing their own maple twist to their regular activities.
Picton artist Ruby Young began to draw the sugar shacks of local maple establishments as this 10th anniversary of Maple in the County neared. She generously donated her note card drawings, and almost 30 other prints of animals, churches and historic buildings, to Hospice Prince Edward to sell with all proceeds going to Hospice.
Hospice Prince Edward provides compassionate end-of-life care to patients that are facing a life-limiting illness as well as to teach families of patients’ ways of caring. Hospice is a community resource for palliative care and bereavement support that serves all of Prince Edward County.
Young’s drawings of the sugar shacks will be among the many arts, crafts and food featured at the new Spring Craft and Farm Market March 26 and 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. above Books and Company, 289 Main St., Picton.
