Temporary bulk water stations will be removed

(UPDATED Nov 2) – The two temporary bulk water stations set up at the Wellington and District Community Centre and the Carrying Place Booster Station will soon be removed for winter.

The units were installed in September in response to ongoing Level 3 Low Water Conditions in the County. The condition remains in effect and Quinte Conservation is calling on residents to continue to reduce water use by 50 per cent.

Though the exact date for removal will depend on weather conditions, it is expected the units will be removed as of Friday, Nov. 11th.

The County notes the units must be removed as they were not designed to withstand harsh winter weather. If required, the municipality will return the units in the spring once the risk of consistent sub-zero temperatures has passed.

The bulk water loading station located at 15 MacSteven Drive in Picton will remain available throughout the winter for smaller users wishing to fill containers through a 1 inch connection.

For larger approved bulk water haulers, the filling stations at 15 MacSteven Drive in Picton and 1 Beach Street, in Wellington will also be available throughout the winter.
