Temporary water shutdown on Hill Street Aug. 29

A temporary water service interruption is expected on Thursday, Aug. 29 as part of the ongoing Hill Street and Fairfield Street reconstruction in Picton.
The water service interruption is expected to begin at approximately 8 am with an expected completion time of 1 pm the same day.
The water shutdown will occur along Hill Street from Bay Street to Bockus Street, and at 10 Bay Street.
Customers directly affected by the interruption will receive a hand-delivered notice.
Customers in the affected area are encouraged to store some potable drinking water for use during the interruption.
This planned work is not expected to impact water quality; however, residents living in the area will experience intermittent interruptions to water service between the hours of 9 am and 10 am, and they may experience coloured water when water service is restored.
To address pressure loss and the potential of coloured water, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete and regular water service is restored.
Lane restrictions along Hill Street will be in place for the duration of the work. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area if possible.
