Visitors crowded into the annual Maker’s Hand artisan show as soon as the doors opened Friday at Picton’s Community Centre at the fairgrounds.
The showcase of fine craft features internationally and locally renowned artisans offering unique works in wood, metal, mixed media, glass, jewellery, clay, fibre, photography and wearable art.
The 12th annual event continues all weekend – Saturday until 6p.m. and Sunday until 4 p.m.
Sponsored by the PEC Arts Council, the show is a tribute to inspired craftsmanship and creativity offering one-of-a-kind items offered by vendors who are juried into the show.
Francoise Mechin Pellet and Thierry Mechin, designers and makers, at L’Atelier du Presbytere, opened their fine linens shop in Milford (by appointment) a few months ago.
Susan McNenly places her ewes and rams, two of many delightfully sculpted silver metal clay and enamel pieces at her booth.
Prince Edward County photographer Peggy deWitt is a mainstay at the show, featuring her fine County photographs and the new calendar for 2017.
Angie Parkins takes recycling to upcycling in her booth which features bags, mitts, scarves, wreaths, and other items that proclaim they “used to be” a coat, pants, kilt, or even a couch.
Jo-ann Zorzi displayed her artistically felted designs in both wall hangings and “pots” that can be used for flowers and plants, and holders for just about everything.
