A two-year extension to Ontario’s Community Transportation Grant Program will make it easier for municipalities to make plans, said Todd Smith, MPP for Bay of Quinte.
He announced Monday that Prince Edward County is eligible to receive up to $92,830.22 per year in 2023-2024 and in 2024-2025 for a total of up to $185,660.44, while Quinte West is eligible to receive up to $72,774.70 per year for a total of $145,549.41 over the same time period.
The funding is subject to agreements between the municipalities and the Ministry of Transportation. Smith says it is in addition to previous allocations of $500,000 for Prince Edward County and $303,135 for Quinte West from 2018 to 2023.
“Stable funding allows municipalities to plan transportation systems to meet the needs of residents and visitors accessing services within their boundaries and across the region,” said Smith.
