Triathletes in town were Kids of Steel

Race directors, captains and more than one hundred volunteers helped 261 triathletes ages 3-17 swim, bike and run in the 7th Annual County Kids of Steel Triathlon hosted by the Prince Edward Fitness and Aquatic Centre, Sunday.
New this year was the ages 3-5 category in which participants swam 20m; biked 150m and ran 250m. They started off the day’s events and brought smiles to onlookers and older competitors.
There were 42 entrants and 39 finishers in the ages 6-7 category. They swam 25km, biked 1.5km and ran 500m. Top three places went to Tessa O’Neil, Zoe Galanter and Ethan Travis.
There were 58 entrants and 57 finishers in the ages 8-9 category. They swam 50m, biked 4k and ran 1km. Top three places went to Christopher Kerstens, Nadiya Linde-Elmhirst and Sky Crousat.
There were 56 entrants and 55 finishers in the ages 10-11 category. They swam 100m; biked 6km and ran 1.5km. Top three places went to Isaiah Kightley, Grant Black and Paige Robinson.
There were 56 competitors and all finished in the ages 12-13 category. They swam 200m; biked 8km and ran 2km. Top three places went to Brayden Scholey, Tristen Jones and Liam O’Connor.
There were 14 competitors and all finished in the ages 14-15 category. They swam 300m; biked 10km and ran 3 km. Top there finishers were Shakil Jiwa, Spencer Robinson and Talia Pappalardo.
There were 10 competitors and all finished in the ages 16-17 category. They swam 300m; biked 10km and ran 3km. Top three finishers were John Butler, Zak Birt and Liam Garvin.
