Turbine components begin moving through the County

While work continues to widen four intersections en route to the White Pines industrial wind project sites in South Marysburgh, components are beginning to arrive for the construction of nine turbines.
Meanwhile, the Alliance to Protect Prince Edward County is continuing its legal challenges. In the fall, APPEC commenced proceedings alleging the Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) contract between wpd and the Independent Electricity System Operator should be declared null and void. APPEC is also appealing a Divisional Court decision for a stay of construction from May 1 to Oct 15 in relation to Blandings turtle nesting and movement.
All eyes are on the new provincial government’s promise to repeal the Green Energy Act and terminate all projects that are in the pre-notice to proceed phase.
Though emails for updates sent to wpd Canada have not yet been answered, it is believed, the project still requires its notice to proceed from the IESO as well as approvals from the Ontario Energy board and Hydro One.

There is our huge electricity bill rolling in. These foreign companies must think we are real suckers when they run to the bank with our cash!
They never said they could stop contracts in place until reviewed to see the costs to get out.
Dennis give them a chance…they have not officially taken power!
Despite the opposition, the company ignores it all. I thought this election was going to stop IWT in PEC – just another broken campaign promise. And the election was only two weeks ago!
