United Way Hastings Prince Edward celebrated fundraising by community members of more than $1.8 million in its 2017 campaign.
An Achievement Breakfast Wednesday morning in Belleville recognized contributions of many businesses, employees, agencies, and individuals who are “Improving Lives Locally” through donations.
In Prince Edward County, United Way supports numerous programs including Alternatives for Women, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Community Living, Children’s Mental Health Services, the Recreation Outreach Centre, Volunteer Information Quinte, Community Development’s Good Baby and Good Food boxes and Prince Edward Learning Centre.
The community campaign total of$1,864,761 represents almost 95 per cent of the goal for 2017.
“Companies who lead an excellent employee campaign are also in many cases – matching their employee donations,” said Kathy Murphy, United Way HPE Executive Director.
United Way Hastings & Prince Edward statistics show support of one in three people in the community through support of 37 agencies and more than 75 programs it helps fund. More information at www.unitedwayhpe.ca
