More than 20 fundraisers helped raise almost double the funds for the Alzheimer Society of Prince Edward County during January’s Walk for Memories event.
Despite snow squalls and frigid weather, about 40 people also cheered and supported walkers at Prince Edward Collegiate in Picton and the arena in Wellington.
This year’s event raised $4926 – almost twice as much as last year.
The top team was Aldea’s Angels, featuring Irene McGee and crew) who won a pizza party at Rockin Rogers Pizza and Subs in Wellington.
The top adult fundraiser was Kevin Ferguson who earned two VIA rail passes.
