Waring House cancels reservations from lockdown and red zone areas

Accolades and words of thanks and appreciation are flowing through social media for Chris and Norah Rogers, proprietors of the Waring House Restaurant and Inn, for cancelling reservations from lockdown, and red zone areas.

“In response to worsening COVID numbers in Ontario, and our mayor’s request to limit visitors to our relatively COVID-free region, Waring House is cancelling all reservations for accommodation and dining for customers travelling from lock down or red zone areas, because of concern for the safety of our staff and our community. This will remain in effect until further notice,” their notice on Facebook stated.

“We are very sorry not to be able to host guests from these areas at this time, and look forward to welcoming them in the better days ahead.”

“Thank you Chris and Norah for making this difficult decision,” said Lori Mcginnis. “I encourage locals to support this business, they offer take out which is delish.”

“Kudos to you Chris and Norah. You are always thinking of your community,” said Cynthia Creasy.

“Thanks for putting the County and residents first,” stated Cheryl Carter.

“Smart decision. Although you may receive some backlash from people in the restricted areas, you are likely to get more local business,” said Tonya Vardy. “People in your community will appreciate your efforts to keep them safe.”

The Waring House is voluntarily forgoing revenue to keep the County safe. In return, County residents should show their gratitude by making a special effort to dine out there to help offset some of this revenue loss.
