Water line repairs Church Street, Picton

Construction work to repair a water main is currently under way today (April 9) on Church Street in Picton, between Owen and Union streets.
People are asked to avoid the area. Construction is expected to be completed late this afternoon. The repairs are not expected to impact water services or quality to residents in the area.
“Extreme changes in temperature cause the ground to expand and contract, which puts pressure on pipes and can contribute to the formation of leaks,” said Ashley Stewart, Corporate Communications Officer, in a statement.
Heavy equipment will limit visibility in both areas and drivers should expect temporary traffic disruptions.
