Water will be off for a few hours in Wellington on Wednesday during replacement of a valve in the water distribution system.
The County is working with Mclnroy-Maines Construction Ltd at the intersection of Belleville Street and First Avenue as part of the ongoing Belleville Street reconstruction.
The valve replacement will result the water being turned off at approximately 11:30 am with an expected completion time of about 3 pm Wednesday.
Lane restrictions at the intersection of Belleville Street and First Avenue will be in place for the duration of the work. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area if possible.
Residents directly affected by the interruption are to receive a hand-delivered notice. Customers in the affected area are encouraged to store some potable drinking water for use during the interruption.
To address pressure loss and the potential of coloured water, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete and regular water service is restored.
