Watermain leak on Hwy 49

The Water and Wastewater Department is repairing a watermain leak on Hwy 49 between Spencer Street and Fawcett Avenue in Picton.
Repairs are expected to be complete by 7 pm. The highway will be reduced to one lane through the affected area for the duration of the repair.
There is water on the road so motorists are advised to slow down through the area, and avoid the construction area if possible.
These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however residents living in the area may experience a partial or complete loss of pressure and/or coloured water while construction is taking place.
If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once maintenance is complete.
