Watermain leak on Picton Main

The County’s Water and Wastewater Department continues emergency repairs as a result of a watermain leak on Picton Main Jan. 5 with an expected completion time of 3 a.m. Jan. 6.
Picton Main Street is closed to local traffic only and detour signs direct traffic around the construction at Johnson Street and McFarland Drive.
McSteven Street allows traffic across between the two streets to the north of Picton Main Street. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area and travel alternate routes.
The repairs are not expected to impact water quality. Customers in the affected area may see pressure loss and coloured water when the watermain is returned to service. If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once maintenance is complete.
