Work will be under way to install new watermain connections as part of Picton’s Broad/Bay streets watermain reconstruction project.
As part of this project, work is being completed on Picton Main Street between Division Street and Bay Street, which may impact water users and motorists in the area between Paul Street and Division Street.
Work on Picton Main Street is to begin on Monday, June 15 at 7 a.m. with an anticipated completion time of 6 p.m. same day. This work will result in a lane diversion on Main Street at Bay Street intersection. Motorists are to expect minimal delay, but should avoid the area if possible.
Construction contractors have distributed notices to potentially affected residents that water will be turned off during this timeframe.
These renewals are not expected to impact water quality; however some residents living in the area may experience intermittent pressure fluctuations and coloured water. If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once maintenance is complete.
