Weekend’s wind gusts, blowing snow and cold continue

Flurries, blowing snow and snow squalls expected to continue today with wind gusts up to 70 km/h. The temperature remains near -3C but with the wind chill is near -13C.
Flurries expected to end this evening with overnight temperature at -18.
Wind gusts Saturday bring down wires, tree limbs and power
UPDATE – As high winds continue, the current power outage affecting more than 7,300 hydro customers from mid-county and north is expected to last until about 7:45 p.m. (Now 11 p.m. for a few). Power was restored to some people at 4:30 p.m. and most others by 8:30 p.m. There were three shorter outages earlier this afternoon.
Environment Canada’s wind warning and snow squall warning continue at least until Sunday morning.
UPDATE: Emergency services have reported the line is a Bell line and is to be removed by a nearby resident who is a Bell technician.
SATURDAY JAN 13: A wire down on Loyalist Parkway (near MLP Residence) was causing concern among motorists Saturday just after 12:30 p.m.
There have also been reports of tree limbs falling, and of doors of homes and garages blowing open.
The wind warning continues for this afternoon and tonight with gusts up to 100km/h.
